What is an MCP Server?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard which enables business systems to connect with AI assistants; an MCP server allows an assistant to read information from your system and respond to questions based on the permissions you already have. Jomablue now has its own MCP server, so your event details are accessible within the AI tools that your team uses. This represents a new way of obtaining quick answers, together with Jomablue Insights (the consolidated live dashboard you see first thing in Jomablue) and your event team.
The fact that MCP is an open standard means that you are not obliged to use a particular AI provider; if your company decides to switch assistants at a later date, your connection will still function.
What You Can Ask Today
The Event Configuration MCP Server illustrates how your event is arranged and enables you to identify any problems before attendees do.
Before the event goes live, make sure that your event setup is correct and that you have a single answer which includes the dates, the time zone, the venue, the branding, the payment settings, and the feature flags.
Check for form errors before your attendees do. Make sure that every admission, field, required flag, and dropdown option is clearly explained. Identify any missing options early on, before they lead to problems.
Check which pages are live and which are not. Make sure you check each landing page, each slug, the publish status, and the embeds or monitoring scripts on every page.
Don’t omit any details when handing over your event. All the categories, limits, opening and closing times, the products available in the store, and the inventory are visible, so anyone who takes over will be able to see how it was arranged. What It Reads & What It Cannot
In August, Event Tech Live pointed out that most event technology has a read/write boundary, even though very few companies make this fact public; here we are sharing ours.
The Event Configuration MCP Server is currently in a read-only state and will only allow access to event configuration data, for now. It can show you how your event is put together, but it cannot alter any settings or carry out any actions on your behalf. It has no connection with attendee, registration or lead records. Access to personal data is regulated separately and is subject to its own set of controls and approvals, and can only be granted upon request from your organisation.
Access is based on the permissions that you have already assigned. When each person connects, they do so through their current Jomablue role, meaning that no one can see anything through the AI assistant that they wouldn’t be able to see in the portal.
The data you provide is used only to answer the question you posed at that time; Jomablue does not use your data to train AI models. As for when you connect an MCP Server to a third-party AI assistant, it is up to the terms you have agreed to with that provider as to how they handle your prompts.
The entire Jomablue platform and company have been the subject of a SOC 2 Type II attestation, with the examination carried out independently in accordance with the Trust Services Criteria.
